2mdc.com (“two thousand years after Christ.com”) is a commercial registered brand of Narcea Multimedia Productions SL, which was constituted on the 25th of January of 1999 and inscribed in the Mercantile Registry of Madrid in tome 13,940, folio 147, section 8, page M-228371.

2mdc.com is an organization expert in information technology. Our resources are dedicated to one sole objective: ensure that our products respond to real demand.

As an organization we are oriented towards business excellence, training, progressive evolution and promotion of information technology. Thanks to our experience and dedication we help generate added value to the client companies and organizations that contract our services, enabling them to take maximum advantage of the opportunities that new management models and new technologies provide.

Awards

Narcea Mulitmedia Productions has received the Macromedia “e-learning Innovation award” for its website www.autoescuela.tv. This international prize is awarded annually. www.autoescuela.tv is the first software developed in the Spanish language to receive this prestigious award.

Participation in European Projects

2mdc.com participates in ECH:TOPPIC, a trans-European Eureka project whose objective is the digitalization and preservation of the European musical legacy.

Our contribution to the project includes:

• Remote integration, via Internet, of the entire process of associated multimedia database management
• Development of communication protocols, both in real time and via an intranet, for the coordination of work carried out by all the partners involved in the project.
• Development of a multimedia interface which facilitates efficient access to information on the Net, for both the general public and industry professionals

2mdc.com also participates in NeuroKCNQPathies, an FP6 trans-European project to study neuron channels, via the development and maintenance of a project intranet and website.

Infrastructure

To develop these complex products, 2mdc.com has specialized personnel in all facets of Internet-oriented programming, on both client and server sides: web hosting service to PYMES (small and medium sized companies) and small organizations, programming of “server-scripts” in languages such as PERL, PHP and Java, remote handling of SQL databases, development of user interfaces in DHTML, Flash, QuickTime, etc.

2mdc.com has a dedicated web server with broadband connection to the Internet “backbone” to carry out tests and “benchmarks” of all of its products and services. Its technical specifications are:

• Linux Red Hat server with Apache web server, MySQL database server, PERL and PHP scripting languages. SSH secure connection.
• Server hardware: Processor at 2,4 Gigahertz, 1 Gigabyte of RAM and 60 Gigabytes of hard drive
• Internet connection with 34Mb lines to Colt and UUNet hosted in Spain in accordance with the European Union guidelines

Our team is made up of staff specialised in all of the facets of web development (hosting, security, programming, design and content).

Projects are composed of several key elements: a solid base capable of supporting the most advanced applications, an attractive and user friendly interface and quality content which is updated frequently.

In order to carry out web projects, our team is distributed as follows:

• Programmers. They are responsible for the largest portion of the “pie”; specialising in the development of applications for websites, content managers (CMS), mash-ups and data management.
• Designers. Our expert graphic designers ensure that the projects are attractive and contribute the necessary graphic resources.
• Staff dedicated to the generation and management of content which is in line with the quality of the final project.
• And just as important, the project analysis and web consulting portion.

The majority of staff on our team is hired exclusively and on a continual basis by 2mdc, thereby guaranteeing that they are dedicated solely to our projects and ensuring group cohesion which is 2mdc’s strength.

In all cases, we are able to evaluate what people who do not form part of 2mdc on a permanent basis can contribute and as a result, we do not rule out the possibility of using external resources who can provide added value to projects.
