Public competitions

Client:
PublicCompetitions.com is one of the leading portals in the sector relating
to specialised information regarding prizes and public competitions in Spain.
Objectives:
Despite having obtained a considerable portfolio of online clients, thanks
mainly to paid adverts on Google, it had very poor positioning in search
engines with respect to the principal key words. The objective of our consultancy
work centre around:
- Re-designing the information structure
- Optimizing the structure and the labelling to facilitate usability
- Optimise the site for search engines
- Improve brand image and online visibility
To achieve these objectives the following was proposed:
- Eliminate flash components
- Consistently label all pages
- Utilise Apache mod-rewrite to transform dynamic content in plain html pages
Technology:
Client programming: the principal tools used on the client side were:
- Exclusive use of HTML and CSS for content presentation
Server programming: amongst the developments, those noteworthy were:
- Reconfiguration of the Apache server to redirect URLs
- Optimize the portal registration and back-office processes
Tracking:
The project results have exceeded client expectations given that they have substantially improved the registered user base, traffic and search engine positioning.
Positioning: search engine positioning of the portal with respect to a wide range of key words can be classified as “excellent”. As an illustration, we include herewith a list of Google search results:
