Osiatis
Launch date: June 2004
Client:
The Osiatis Group is a European multinational specialist in the establishment
and support of information and telecommunication infrastructures. Osiatis
has more than 14,000 employees throughout Europe and their billing in 2004
reached 210 million Euros.
Objectives:
The Spanish subsidiary of Osiatis asked us to develop their corporate portal
at the beginning of 2003. The prioritised objectives of Osiatis were to
increase traffic to their website and to use this as a tool to:
- Improve their brand image and online visibility
- Promote their services and products
- Allow their clients to subscribe to seminars and events
To achieve these objectives, it was proposed:
- To create a series of weblogs on topics of interest to their clients:
- To integrate into the portal a news section with the following areas:
- Add a technology news service: noticias.osiatis.es
- Create a "dynamic space" devoted to promotions
Technology:
Client programming: the principal tools used on the client side were:
- HTML and CSS for the presentation of content
- Flash, on certain occasions and for specific promotions
Server programming: amongst the developments, those noteworthy were:
- Remote content managers in PHP and MySQL
- Automatic procedures to read RSS files for the news service
- Mailing list management to keep the registered user base informed of all seminars and events
- Adaptation of an Open Source:serendipity web-log platform to the needs of Osiatis
Tracking:
The results of the project have exceeded the expectations of the client given that they have substantially improved their registered user database, traffic to the website and search engine positioning.
Traffic: in the following graphic, taken from the servers statistical analysis
log tools, the spectacular growth seen on the website from June 2004 can
be observed.
Positioning: positioning in search engines with respect to a wide range of keywords can be classified as “excellent”. As an example, we include a list of Google search results:
